Christina Southall, of Meadow Road, Driffield, writes . . .
ON August 30 my husband underwent major heart surgery in Castle Hill Hospital. Throughout his stay on ICU and Ward 7 the nursing care was without a doubt superb, with 22 years nursing experience myself I am the first to recognise that little something special.

Through your column I would like to say a BIG thank you to all our family, friends and work colleagues, for their never ending love and support. All of their lovely messages and very amusing get well cards, all of which have been very much appreciated.

Many thanks also to Mr Cowen (cardio thoracic surgeon) who kept to his promise and Dr Pickering for his kindness and understanding in recent months.

My husband is now recovering well at home and addressing his get well programme. So with his new heart we will be able to have a new lease of life together. Thank you.
Life can only get better now.
