DRIFFIELD School has secured a place in the top three best performing schools in the region based on this year's record breaking GCSE results.
Following the unveiling of this year's GCSE results Driffield School has been declared the second best performing school in the East Riding with 68.7 per cent of year 11 pupils achieving 5A* to C grades, including English and maths.

This is a 10 per cent increase on last year, while the overall number of pupils achieving 5A* to C grades was 74.4 per cent.

Mike Furbank, head of improvement and learning at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "These results demonstrate a commitment to improvement from schools and 10 out of 18 schools have improved their performance at five A* to C including English and mathematics. This is impressive as it is from an already high baseline.

"The hard work of staff and students has been rewarded and I look forward to following the progress of this talented group of individuals."
