WITH cycling being big news just at the moment thanks to Team GB's multi-gold medal success in the Beijing Olympics, it's pleasing to note that Kilham's Jeff Thorley has been doing his bit in the saddle, too.
After closing on Saturday lunchtime, Jeff, Kilham sub-postmaster, drove down to Gilberdyke, the race HQ for Bridlington Cycling Club’s Open Time Trials, registered and then changed into his Bridlington Cycling Club colours in readiness for the 10 mile event.

Jeff’s time was 24mins 15secs which is a personal best and an excellent result for the rider who has missed 11 club time trials through illness, and has only been back racing for two weeks. Photo submitted
