On Friday, August 15 the fourth Hutton Cranswick Angling Club Pensioners Match took place on Gatehouse Lake.
This event (initially organised by the late Trevor Peat) proves popular with the more mature anglers of the club with friendly rivalry in abundance.

Hoping to win for the third year in a row J Cappleman drew his favoured peg - however retention of the trophy was not to be.

A Kemp, fishing into the breeze on peg 16, ran out a worthy winner, showing that a centre pin and quill float can prove effective in sunny conditions.

Larger fish proved elusive with silver fish providing the sport, although disappointingly weights were low.

Final results: 1 A Kemp 5.5lb; 2 J Cappleman 4lb; 3 A Baines 3lb.

o The event was sponsored by Kevin Hardcastle (Architectural Design Services).
