Playing for the Graham Harrison Memorial Shield

Spiders Football Club is organising an eleven-a-side football tournament for the Graham Harrison Memorial Shield which is to be held at Rotsea Lane, Hutton, on Sunday, August 31.
Graham Harrison, 19, was a former player with Spiders AFC. A university student who was in the first year of a degeree course in sports marketing, he died in March of this year following a short illness. His brothers Martin and Steve are currently
playing with the club.

The football tournament is aimed to support and raise awareness about Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and all profits made will be forwarded to the CRY Foundation.

The tournament has attracted entries from several men’s teams in the area, with confirmed teams being: Spiders AFC, Little Driffield, Driffield Rangers, Hutton Cranswick 3rds, Burton Agnes, Full Measure FC, and Driffield Youth Centre.

Nafferton Old Boys have stepped in to fill the final place after North Frodingham were unable to compete.

The teams will be separated into two groups of four with matches of 30 minutes duration (15 minutes each way).

Each team will play four games (three group matches and a play-off to determine its final position).

Refreshments will be sold on the day. and members of the public are welcome to come and show their support.

Donation bins will be present on the day for anyone wishing to make a contribution to the CRY foundation.

There will be a stand displaying.information about the CRY charity.

The first fixtures are scheduled to commence at 10.30am.
